The topic of temporal meaning in texts has been subjected to important research in recent years. The aim of this book is to see how temporal information contained in a text or in discourse can be used to reason about the flow of time. It is divided into 5 main parts :
1/ Analysis of logical properties of the aspectual verbs which describe the internal temporal structure of events
2/ Dynamic aspect trees (directed graphs representing information about events)
3/ States, generic information, and constraints
4/ Perspectives
5/ Description of a limited fragment of English to illustrate the core ideas of the dynamic interpretation of tense and aspect)
