In this book, the author address 5 central problems in the study of second language acquisition : transfer from a language to another stage development of acquisition, cross-learner systematicity, incompleteness and variability in acquisition. This book gives a definition of each of these areas and an indication of why they are important for understanding the scond language acquisition.
